Monarch Of The Dining Room

Today was a day for exploring and showing our friends Neil and Madge the local sights.  Balmoral. Lochnagar Distillery, Burn O Vat, Braemar and the quite remarkable Fife Arms Hotel.

We enjoyed a late lunch in the Bar. Cullin Skink, Fish and Chips and Bitter Chocolate and Almond Tart. All to an exceptionally high standard and served by friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The main Blipfoto shows the Dining Room Monarch and the Extra shows the Monarch complete with wings flying over our table.

The Fife Arm is probably the finest hotel in Scotland wing the most fantastic art collection. Look up the website.

Staying as a guest overnight would be a major investment but lunch in the bar was a bargain.

And the Fife Arms was able to offer a reduced service thanks to their own standby generators. This seemed pretty obvious to me but not to the management at Craigendarroch.
