Chicken-egg? Egg-chicken?

This is a 'button' for an exhibition at Macclesfield Heritage Centre. It's made from polymer clay, and I've been playing with the idea for a few days.
Is it a hen that looks like an egg? Or an egg with a hen in it?
Well, I don't know. And it really doesn't matter very much. I'm just playing with the colours, the textures, and the gold 'crackle'.
