On The Move
Forgot to post these pictures, don’t know how I missed them.
Some folk might think that this is the Botanics staff re-enacting the Birnam Wood to Dusinane Hill scene from Shakespeare’s Scottish play.
The truth is somewhat more mundane as it was all part of removing the plants/trees from the Victorian Palm House into temporary storage (possibly up to several years) whilst the major refurbishment of the near 150 year old building progresses.
I think the 21st century workforce have it easier than the 19th century one when they moved the Botanical Garden trees from their original location just off Leith Walk to Inverleith.
