A visiting chad?
I wonder how many of you remember the Chads of the 1940s? I came to know them relatively recently, when we christened our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit CHAD house. Get it? CH and AD? Chad had also been a bishop in Hexham in the 7th Century so it was a name with local connections.
A Chad today might well say "Wot, no power?" or "Wot, no water?" There are 17 houses about half a mile from our main village who still have no power or water today. Most of the village was unaffected when Storm Arwen blew down powerlines last week.
Today's Chad, is actually Margaret (across the road). She has taken on a very large project to embroider a canvas cushion called Chinese Peace. The picture of it looks gorgeous, but there is a lot of work in it and she is a beginner. That's bravery for you. Of course, we are on hand with helpful advice!!
Sandra came from Durham on the train today. It was just lovely to see her. We have been friends since 1972. We don't see each other often, but we are very comfortable with each other.
My sweet potato soup was fine, a bit smoky, but fine. I also made carrot soup which Mum enjoyed.
Had a blood test to try to identify the cause of aches and pains I'm not enjoying at the moment.
