St Mary's Battersea
People often say this is a Wren church - it isn't. It was built in 1777, about 100 years too late for Wren. But it is similar inside to St James's Piccadilly which is by Wren. The site has housed a church since Saxon times. Now it nestles between the houseboats and the tower of glass Monte Vetro by Richard Rogers.
