Democracy Sausage
Local government elections across much of NSW today. The closest polling place is Erskineville Public School but there’s often long queues due, I suspect, to the superior quality of the BBQ. Today it was the democracy sausage (with fried onions and sauce, on a roll), b&e rolls and halloumi, spinach and relish rolls. There’s an online democracy sausage map for the undecided. A friend handing out how-to-votes said the town hall queue was moving faster.
I did take a photo of a sausage in a roll, bought by someone who voted at the town hall but then returned to the school for the BBQ. She almost got into a fight with others who suspected her of queue-jumping.
All six candidates for Lord Mayor of Sydney were women. Clover Moore, a punkish 70+ year-old who’s been in the job for 17 years, will probably win.
Thanks for hosting Peg. No-one, including BBQ man, wore socks.
