Stacey's Little Helpers

Today has been, to put it mildly, BANANAS. I got to the office at 7:30am to shift a load of boxes to get everything set up for the volunteers to start wrapping the Christmas gifts for inpatients, then basically spent all day wrapping and packing up gifts for the wards, running about with a trolley laden with heavy boxes to pop the packed boxes where they needed to be for collection & delivery. Even with 4 volunteers working from 9:30am to around 2pm, there were still gifts leftover to be wrapped and an absolute ton of recycling to squash down and plop in the outside bin room (which, I discovered after venturing into it at 4:25pm, does not have lighting, but does have rats...) so it was a late leave for me too. I am absolutely achey and exhausted now, after barely sitting down all day, forgetting to have breakfast, not having any caffeine (why?!) and having a very unsatisfying Super Noodle lunch. Ordered an Emergency KFC that took over an hour and a half to arrive and turned up cold, so I'm not feeling particularly jazzed right now...
