Brancaster beach huts
We woke up to beautiful blue skies this morning, but it was cold. After breakfast we drove to the beach (so that I did not do too much walking) and then walked on the beach for ages - it goes on and on so it feels like you can walk forever. We took Xena's ball and she loves chasing after it (see extra). This photo is of the beach huts, I have always wondered why they are behind the sand dunes in the grasses and face the golf course and not the sea, I will have try to find out from a local person. As we left the beach the blue skies were fading and then later it got cloudy and it has rained all afternoon
Back at the house we had cappuccinos and then Gavin did his last DIY job which was to install a light fitting in one of the rooms. He then paced around not knowing what to do, trying to think up other DIY things he could do as he just loves it - 'no you cannot move that mirror one inch to the left, it is perfectly placed in position'
We went out for lunch at a local restaurant, and it was delicious. We have found the food to be of a good standard here and everyone is always so friendly and welcoming which is good to see. The chef made a special effort to prepare something for me that was gluten free by adapting the dish.
We have now packed up and are going home - all the chores here are done and we have some things on at home tomorrow, including our Christmas tree is being delivered by little elves (The lads from our local scout group!).Throughout the day there have been a flurry of Whatsapps from our local neighbourhood group who are getting themselves in a tizzy because apparently Netflix are filming in our area next week and we cannot use the car park as their crew trucks will be parked there. We do have some neighbours in the area who, based on their WhatsApp comments, I really never wish to meet!
