Alpacas and Tea
It was a sunny Saturday morning so we walked to Emsworth, taking the off road tracks to the yacht basin so we could stop at the fish shack selling locally caught seafood. Unfortunately the little flower stall where we’d hoped to get a seasonal posy was empty - hopefully we’ll be able to get one another day.
The water was high, pushed onshore by the strong south-westerly wind and flooding over in a few places. We stopped to sit and look out to sea and enjoy a flask of hot tea, the cold blasts of air and bright sunshine invigorating our spirits, along with Andy’s tales of dinghy racing in these waters as a young man.
Perhaps the most unusual aspect of the walk was having to clear the footpath for some of the local herd of alpacas to be walked to the village Christmas fair!
This afternoon I’ve spent an hour at the allotment planting the plum and green gage trees that were delivered earlier this week. Good to get them in the ground.
As I type Andy is preparing our Saturday evening Indian meal and Merlin is curled up on his blanket content as he has had his dinner. He isn’t keen on the smell of spices so usually stays put on a Saturday night!
Hoping your day has had something in it that makes you smile.
