Mythical creatures

The Green Man on the wall that is. The Santas are for real. Today was the cycling club’s annual Santa run into London. First extra shows me with my suit in place. Smart, eh? Brilliantly organized by Ronald we found ourselves riding past the Spurs stadium, Alexander Palace and along the disused railway line to Finsbury Park. At this point we stopped to admire the Green Man looking down at us from the embankment.

When we arrived by the Thames I turned off and made my way home. The others are still in a pub somewhere and will be cycling back along the towpath in pitch dark with lights. 

Meanwhile, by way of a complete contrast, I went to a wonderful choral concert by Felicitas at Waltham Abbey church to hear a selection of gorgeous Christmassy pieces. The star finale was a Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten. It was beautifully performed and the norman columns and arches in the abbey were a perfect setting. See second extra.
