Let there be light!

We were in one of the changing rooms around the pool today when H noticed the decorative ceiling supports and started asking me about the pool and how old it was. Her questions about lighting, and whether they had originally had electric lights in 1900, made me think to take this picture of the funny little lightwell over the entrance stairs. The architect, Robert Morham, has squeezed some benches in around the opening to create a small but bright nook for a chat. Not much used at the moment of course, as there isn't much lingering indoors.
