COAST LIVE OAK TREE

Today on my walk with Angus, my walking partner found this little cluster of ACORNS
on the ground.

I believe they are from the California native COAST LIVE OAK TREE. The leaves look more like HOLLY leaves, than the various Oak Trees that live in other parts of the US.

If these ACORNS grow into trees, they will be protected, because they have been decimated by development, wildfire & drought. They are beautiful, stately sentinel trees when full grown.

Maybe I will plant these ACORNS
