Bendigo
Even though the forecast wasn’t good and the day dawned cold and dull with low cloud, the eleven of us who showed up at the lakefront decided to go to the Bendigo Gold Fields anyway. The gamble paid off and we didn’t get rained on - but it was cold! The Kanuka bushes were in flower creating a lovely effect over the landscape. Two extras: the ruins of a cottage and the ruins of the ore crushing battery. A really good day.
