Still no power. Briefly last night, no water either, but it was back on again before bedtime thank goodness.

A brief walk early this afternoon. Only one photo, of snow on the hills towards Berwick. Just a smattering.

Home to investigate the state of the freezers, without power for 3 full days. Sadly much of the food had defrosted, but we'll cook up and use what we can. In an attempt to minimise the waste, MrM and I each had a few couple of mini ice creams - though they were more like cream in a chocolate casing! A shame that Northern Powergrid kept sending texts with horribly optimistic reconnection times. If we'd realised how long the power would be off, we could have donated most of the food to the rest centre. A good opportunity to clean the freezers - no more escapee peas in the bottom basket!

A second evening of over-competitive Scrabble. Then, just after 11.30pm, the lights came back on, after 76 hours! Hooray!
