All Cwtched Up
Today, me and the family decided to head down to Monknash, which is on the coast in the Vale of Glamorgan. My hubby decided to cycle 15 miles down to the 3 Golden Cups pub in Southerndown first and we picked him and the bike up on our way through to Monknash. Needless to say, he quenched his thirst with a couple of pints whilst waiting for us to arrive!!
Monknash is a beautiful spot on the Heritage Coast. Parking is provided in a farmers field and then its a short walk down a country lane and through a wooded area onto the beach itself. It was absolutely beautiful down there, the waterfalls through the woods and onto the beach were just stunning. Here are my flickr photos of the day if you fancy taking a look.
On the way back to the car I took a tumble and ended up spread eagled face down in the water and mud!!!! Needless to say there was nobody to rush to my aid as hubby and girls had gone on ahead and didn't see me fall!! So had to gather myself and hobble up to rejoin them!! What a sight I was!!! Now have one very sore and swollen ankle with bruises galore!!
Despite my hobbling and soreness we had to stop at the fabulous country pub in Monknash, The Plough And Harrow for some liquid refreshment. A really lovely oldy worldy pub that is a must visit if you are in the area. It was rammed full of people who had just completed the Vale Walk for charity.
We decided to drive back home via Ogmore By Sea as there were lots of lambs down there that I wanted to try and photograph. Thankfully I came across these two cuties having a snooze together just at the side of the road.
