Christmas is coming!

This huge Stag at the door of John Lewis caught my attention!  Been round Leeds art museum this morning.  There are some lovely pieces but unfortunately they had a chunk of the place closed.  I loved the sculpture in pink alabaster by John Skeaping who married Barbara Hepworth : woman with bird. Extra. It was done carving directly into the stone allowing the natural graining and contours of the material to guide him.  Done in the 1920s.

The building that houses both the museum and art gallery is beautiful.  With mosaics, grand staircases etc.

Tomorrow we are off to visit the Royal Armoury
