Gnarly
These two random mountain bikers appeared as I stopped to photograph the rainbow, providing for a much more interesting photograph. It was a gnarly day. The recent heavy snowfall has left the moor very wet and sticky. Drizzle and a strong northerly made for a distinctly gnarly day.
It was pretty gnarly in the penultimate race of the F1 Championship. With both my lads being great fans, they’ve inducted me into a sport that I’ve always found strange and contrived in its current form. But, armed now with a reasonable understanding of its nuances and a willingness to let go of its shortcomings, I find myself looking forward to each grand prix with increasing relish now. It’s utterly compelling to watch. Any duel between the two very best proponents of a sport is bound to be a spectacle. Factor in the huge stakes involved, plus Hamilton and Verstappen being at different ends of their careers, and this particular duel will go down in legend as one of the greatest ever. It feels like the gloves are going to be off completely for the last installment. We're Hamilton fans in this household, which will be obvious for some of you. Bring it on Lewis.
