Herd of Hope, Spitalfields.

Male. DOB - 24.9.17. Orphaned and rescued 11 months later after rangers followed his tracks along a riverbed.

Well this stopped me in my tracks. Outside Spitalfields Market is a disparate herd of elephants, cast in bronze. Each of them real. Each of them needing human intervention because of what humans are doing to this world.

This is only one of them. Some are small, some are big. It took a while for me to realise what I was looking at.

Public art done right. With a message that engages, makes you think and makes you ask questions. And, apart from all that, it’s a rather lovely sculpture.
