reminiscent…

…of grandma’s

ornaments

or if you prefer - an old-fashioned christmas ornament - my grandmother’s tree was full of - christmas ornaments like this one - in fact, she brought many - of them with her - from germany when she - first came to this country - ones she’d collected as - a girl as well as though - passed on from her mama - many were made of glass - or porcelain and most - definitely were very fragile - in nature and design

a lot survived through the - years along with the telling - of stories and traditions while - putting up the tree every christmas - but sadly a great many - suffered brokenness or the - sheer wearing of time - and now very few originals - remain carefully boxed up - still with my mama - hopefully to be passed - onto the grandkids one day - along with those - stories of old

in the meantime - i dream of what was - in my plethora - of memories when grandma lived - with us and regaled us - with those old stories - in an ornament which brings - it all to the forefront - so i can enjoy…
