Biggest Bauble

An early alarm, after an ok nights sleep……just a banana for breakfast, loaded up the car with a couple of extra coat options, a thicker jumper, hair brush, gloves, woolly hat, BiLs birthday card & pressie, stopped off quickly for a coffee to go, then headed over to my sis’s for our day out.

Called to collect a couple of things Id ordered at Next en route, then picked sis up and we drove into Manchester for our mooching session around the Christmas markets.  It was chilly, rainy and windy but we enjoyed ourselves.  Our friend L should have joined us, but she has a rotten chest infection so stayed cosy at home.

Todays blip is a large and very sparkly bauble, that doubles up as a cabin for consuming beverages in, rather festive dont you think?!

We treated ourselves to a lovely hot mulled wine topped with brandy, so delicious, had another. ooch, before heading to Selfridges for a tapas style lunch, meatballs in tomato sauce, chilli & garlic king prawns, ragu filled arancini, mushroom, Italian ham & smokey aubergine mini pizza…..all washed down with a glass of fruity Pinot, absolutely lovely! A quick stop off at Morrisons on the way home, picked up a lovely piece of gammon for roasting pre xmas.

Next we took Kobi out for his afternoon walk, felt more chilly as the skies had cleared and the rain had stopped.  BiL arrived home just as we did.

An early tea had been planned, as they wanted to watch their “blue” team on tv at 6, it was to be homemade fish chips and peas, but sis and I didnt feel overly hungry, so we had a fish butty instead.

I left just after 7 went straight to the pub quiz, we were rubbish tonight. I got home around 10.30, almost the same time I got home this day last year, after hubs first visit to Christies,  which turned into a long emotional day, resulting in his emergency admission after a 12 hour wait for a bed.

A long and difficult three weeks followed, this was during covid too,  so no visiting allowed. We had never spent more than an odd night apart……..until now of course :-(

I have just opened todays post…..and I knew this would happen, it included the first Christmas card that is still addressed to both of us……….:-(((
