So much water!
They are releasing water from Burrendong Dam to allow space for flood mitigation.
I tried to find how many mega litres per day but couldn’t find it, but 59 is good on statistics and might be able to tell me.
I was looking at all this water flowing past us and hoping that future generations will learn how to manage it well. Burrendong holds I think twice as much water as Sydney Harbour. It was full in 2016 and had emptied by 2019. It fills quickly when it rains in the catchment.
From us it flows on into the Macquarie Marshes. There used to be a lot more wetlands.
Eventually it joins the Murray Darling river system.
I have added an extra of a bus stop, Aussie style.
