Flowers still hanging in there
In addition to the camellia buds, I still have some other flowers blooming here on December 8! The yellow pansies are doing well in a hanging basket. The pineapple sage has plenty of red blooms. The butterfly weed just keeps making flowers even though there are no butterflies now (and all the little spidery bugs are feasting!). The dianthus are in the rusty red wagon and I might put some more pansies in there for so further color this winter. I have one periwinkle volunteer that keeps blooming and the pentas which I thought were done have come back out again. The one tiny yellow zinnia is growing outside the flower bed. Plants just do whatever they want and that is fine with me!
In the far left lower corner some of the spring bulbs have pushed up through the leaves in several places in the flower bed. I hope they just stay little because January is our coldest month here. But I know they have bloomed early many times.
As you can see, it has rained on the flowers which is great because we have not had any rain in a month. Plus it is gloomy cold out which is okay too. I used the indoor time to make a pumpkin pie and a chicken pot pie for supper with some leftover chicken from the weekend.
Now for some reading time!
