Hare

I went to Brodgar looking for hares, especially boxing ones. I did see a group of four and a group of five chasing about. That's the female being pursued by suitors, but I couldn't get close as there was no cover. At one point this single animal ran toward me.
As for birds: red-throated divers were calling and skylarks singing. Shoveler duck and mallard, teal, wigeon, long-tailed duck, tufteds, red-breasted mergansers on the lochs. Three common seals 'banana'd' on rocks- looks very uncumfortable. Too far for a photo were some Slavonian grebes- the males very smart in their summer plumage.
