More gardening with cardboard

As we've finally (almost) finished adding the final bits to the kitchen we've been able to use the last huge cardboard boxes to extend the flower bed in the back garden. An added bonus has been covering it with various piles of pretty well rotted turf from previous bits of 'landscaping'. which were cluttering up the place. Next spring this bit should be ready to plant small shrubs and herbaceous stuff. Underneath is pretty well riddled with tree roots so we may have to stick to shallow rooted stuff. Meanwhile it has made the whole place look a lot tidier. 
It's amazing to think that only a year ago we were doing the same at the front and that has been lovely all this year.
