flower Friday

I like working at Christmas time because so many people are gone, things slow down, people generally cheer up.

Yesterday I said, "I love working at Christmas, no one is here!" which sounds very misanthropic I know.

Within five minutes I also said, "I'm lonely, there's no one to talk to!" which made Karen laugh.

Today I had a walk and lunch in the park with the same co-worker I dined with last time. I did give him a little opportunity to talk but boy I talked a lot.

I drove Karen's car to get there. I haven't driven her car in at least two years. It was so weird. First off, her car has a key. Second, you have to insert the key into the door, you can't get in just by walking close. Third, it doesn't matter that you are in the car, with the key, the car will not start until you put the key into another little hole and turn it. Fourth, you actually have to change the lane yourself. How is that safe? Five, every time I wanted to change from reverse to forward or forward to reverse I made the window wipers work.

I dunno.

I have been noticing and appreciating the beauty of trees even more than usual. I would give examples but I don't have the vocabulary to explain. We thought this tree looked like it had been bonsai-ed. The sky is fake.

Congratulations. You made it through the week!!
