Surprise visitors

When I looked out of the kitchen window this morning I saw these little birds busy eating the cotoneaster berries.
 
At first I thought they were small thrushes until a friend rang  to say she had them in her garden too.  They are redwings from Scandinavia wintering in Scotland.
 
Tomorrow we are supposed to go to a Christmas concert in Stirling and we have already bought our tickets but the news of the omicron virus is beginning to make us very edgy bout going to big social gatherings though we have been assured that they have reduced capacity in the church by fifty per cent to allow for social distancing.
