Bats in the belfry
An impromptu visit to Pembridge, the famous black-and-white village in Herefordshire. Nice lunch at The Café, then a mooch round the church and the remarkable - indeed, unique in this country - 13th century octagonal Norwegian-style detached belfry. We were lucky enough to see one of the rare Natterer's bats who live in the belfry, but I only had my phone with me and it wasn't up to photographing fast-fluttering subjects so instead this glimpse of the churchyard through the window. The light was very flat (it was damp and drizzly) but it's not turned out too bad. I'm going back with my camera next time!
