High water!
Sunday
After a couple of grey dismal days, it was a treat this morning to wake up to clear blue skies and sunshine. We had a wonderful service at church, with the sun streaming through the beautiful stained glass windows, a good message and great music. Even better, it was finally announced that we have a new music director, and we will start having choir practice again on Thursday - getting close to two years since we had the voice choir together, although the handbells did meet in two small groups, masked and widely spaced for several months during the first part of this year, initially recording music for the streamed services, before we started live services again.
After service, we stayed to socialize for a little while, but decided not to stay for bible study, but to get back home and change, and get out to enjoy the sunshine. Laura had spent the night with a friend, but we met up with her, and then drove together up to Indian Mound Preserve near Cedarville, Ohio. Massie Creek, which runs through the park was running really high, and the waterfall was quite impressive. Cedar Cliff Falls is actually man-made, having been originally used to harness the power of Massie Creek for the Harbison Mill, which closed down way back in 1917.
We got about 3.9 miles of hiking in, then we dropped Laura back to her car, before continuing on to Barnes and Noble for me to buy a book for our Book Club Christmas party and book exchange tomorrow, then on to Krogers to pick up a few groceries.
