Covid comment:
Am I the only person a bit bemused by the “NHS Covid Pass”, specifically the part saying that being fully vaccinated allows you into various places? As is obvious, being vaccinated doesn’t stop you transmitting the virus to anyone else, with The Lancet reporting on 29/10/2021 “this study unfortunately also highlights that the vaccine effect on reducing transmission is minimal in the context of delta variant circulation”. With this in mind, why is the UK government using vaccination as some sort of measure as to how safe someone is to mingle with others? Surely the idea is to ensure infected people aren’t socially circulating and thus a negative test, rather than vaccination, should be required before being allowed into confined spaces with others?
