An unusual sight

No, not the Belisha beacon - although they are less common now than they once were, as Zebras were replaced by Pelicans and Pandas etc (for non UK readers, I should explain that these are the names given to various pedestrian road crossings in this country). No the unusual sight is the strange continuous blue cloud in the background. I'm sure I've seen it before, but not for a long time.

The Belisha beacon looks rather like a model sun in the sky - although the sun doesn't normally flash like this.

Despite the blue sky, the wind was still bringing in cold air from Scandinavia so the temperatures remain only a little above freezing.

Some good news today: our sick washing machine was finally replaced under guarantee, so we can now hold a conversation again when the machine is spinning.
