Amandine's Plot Treize

Planting spring bulbs

I've had spring bulbs sitting in the shed for months and finally managed to plant some today.

The weather's been quite mild but squirrels have been less active and when you get to this time of year, bulbs are definitely better in the soil than in the shed!

I planted white and yellow daffodils and winter crocuses. Where I did rows, I added a layer of bark to be able to tell where the bulbs were and then had second thoughts and covered with chicken wire to be on the safe side!

I spent 5 hours on the plot today and still didn't get everything I wanted to do done so the snowdrops, muscari and allium bulbs will be for another day.

And I couldn't resist buying 30 more mixed daffodils when I got home!
