Had to go to Bury St Edmunds for late afternoon so went to the NT's Ickworth Park, to the south of the town, for a short walk beforehand. Haven't been there since early 2020 - the last time the central feature of the house, the Rotunda, was still clad in scaffolding and blue polythene as its roof was being retiled with Westmorland Green Slate.
The main Blip shows one of the clusters of a hemi-parasite on an old lime tree in the parkland. Purely for botanical interest, you understand, as I'm still operating in "Bah Humbug" mode. The first extra shows the surface features of an old pollarded oak (no longer alive, as far as I could see) in the parkland, while the second extra shows the Rotunda proudly showing off its new roof (at an estimated £5m for that & the adjacent roof repairs, it should be proud!!).
