Grounded

..well, in a sense.

You can see (better in the extra) how one side of this house in Southwell has slipped, probably because it has no foundations other than soil. Our cottage is the same where a subtle an extension built long ago is at an angle. I suspect it may be an extension to the original house here too. You can also see the bracing in the side wall, which is common around here.

Am tentatively meeting a friend at a pub tonight. I suspect they may have external heaters, but am ok inside if not too busy. Certainly won't stay if it feels too unsafe.

Pleased today to put "The Historian" in touch with a friend of mine who builds his own acoustic guitars from scratch ie wood (& owns electric). The Historian's son is guitar mad and is getting a build your own electric guitar from xmas, and his enthusiasm never seems to dim.
