Today I called to collect Sarah’s exam certificates at Kirklees College, which almost didn’t happen as my driving licence photo has pre-lockdown hair - a short brown bob. The receptionist took some convincing that the grey haired old lady standing in front of her was in fact me. Anyway, I digress.
On my way I passed this building - formerly the nightclub Ivanhoe’s, scene of The Sex Pistols’ last ever gig, on Christmas Day 1977. They played a benefit gig for striking firemen - handing out all sorts of goodies to the kids, but a few weeks later the band was no more. When I first moved to Huddersfield the club was still there, but these days it’s just a facade to the Lidl supermarket behind it.
I’ve blipped it before but today I was taken with the lovely light so here we are again.
