The morning after
The night before.
Tired, desperate not to be an angel ever again. I made a pact with the youngest that he had to do it just one more time this morning, then we were done, forever - never to wear tinsel again. Many, many desperate tears when we got to school and as I left, he was being taken to the dressing up box to search for a shepherd costume. I have told the school that the angel costume can happily be donated, I think we are done with tinsel festooned costumes in our house!
Much of my day spent sorting out some of the last details of the ball that never was. Delighted that I have diverted the hog roast, that we had to pay in full, to a homeless charity. So some good has come of it all.
Today I'm grateful for"
The school adapting for a very unhappy boy (I don't think he is destined for the stage)
Not letting go and insisting the hog roast was not wasted, even when told it wouldn't happen
Seeing an old colleague at drinks this evening who I wasn't expecting to see
