A day in the life

Last job

Tonight I did my last job for this year. This is in the restaurant at Kalmar theatre, where the so called "Soup performances" or "Soup theatre" take place with me as a sound technician. The concept is that you buy a ticket that gives you a bowl of good soup, coffee and a cake with an hours entertainment of some kind. Today the show was about Jenny Nyström, an iconic Swedish artist who is today mostly known as the inventor of our picture of the house Brownie, Gnome or Elf that we call "Tomte". Here’s a link to some of her work on that theme. But, she was also a serious artist, one of Swedens most well known and popular ones.

The performance was about her trip to Paris on a scholarship she got after her studies at the Swedish art academy around the time of the world exhibition in Paris in 1900. My camera can't handle the light conditions during the show but you get a feeling of it.

It's been nice to work there this autumn and I hope I can do some more of it in the spring too. For now, I feel like I need a rest and some time for reflection over the last year with covid, pensioner-beeing, , music-work and house-searching. My Blip journal will help me remember, along with my list of all the assignments I've had during the year.
Now, good night. I'll be back to you with comments tomorrow.
