All's ready
for an other hectic day.
The plastic baubles we'd ordered last week arrived on Tuesday. When we conceived the plan to fill and decorate them together with all the children in the school, we had another week of activities in mind.
The midterm level tests had to be completed today, inorder to let the children start in their new level group after the Christmas break. Very important and we won't have time for it tomorrow.
Our teacher who provides the special workshops had planned today to make up for the canceled classes due to the two-week closure. I use to help her with these lessons.
So that's how it came to be a hectic day. It started with two regular classes and a promise from me to help with the Christmas baubles for a third group. We already had abandoned our initial idea. We teachers, could do it much quicker. I had to make photos of all individual children wearing a Santa hat in front of a Christmas tree. Print all nice cards (find suitable sample on internet) with very nice Christmas greetings (find suitable sample on internet). It's amazing how cooperative children are when it comes to taking turns taking pictures. You give the first child a hat, order it to give its happiest Christmas smile, take a photo and send it for the next child. Children understand that it has to be done quickly and just do it. In the meantime, the lessons and the workshops continued. I had found the text and the example for a card during my lunch break. Putting the two together and print them and the photos was more time-consuming, but after the kids got home I was able to work on it for a while.
We worked until after 5 o'clock to finish the balls completely. They look beautiful. Tomorrow will be a calmer day.
