Garroted

This Heron appears to have met a sad end by flying into the overhead wires beneath which it was lying. Such a sad sight, I have probably often seen it down by the shore and thought of Dylan Thomas's 'Heron priested shore' - such handsome and patient birds though in flight they remind me of heavy bombers especially compared to the speedy aerodynamic gannets.
