Long way home

These guys have been working on the road to the office for months now. We got a letter in saying the work would be 4-6weeks and we would be able to gain access to the office as they would provide "access". They have been anything but helpful, taking way longer than it should (OK they have had really shit weather) and I have been sworn at twice for daring to want to go to work.

The long way round to the office is another 10miles extra and I have twice been turned back and told that it is the only way. I have no problem with them doing up the road, no problem with waiting while they finish something but to have to drive for an extra 25mins (these are small country roads) doesn't help. Entertainingly, they once sent me the long way only to be told at the other end the only access was where I'd just come from.

They've been the same with the postie and plenty of other folk. Sorry for living where you are trying to do work, but we can't just shut down for 2months plus while they play with drains and things.
