Remnants of War
We went to Eastwell Manor for a birthday lunch yesterday. The hotel is a country house set in the middle of a large estate and there are extensive views on all sides. I think the stonework on this hillside must be a remnant of WW2. Many local farmers and others with country knowledge were trained for guerilla warfare and this area was a centre for such operations so I suspect these works may have been part of defences or concealed hideouts.
