Monkey With A Hat On!

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

You may, like me, have been a bit worried about Shenée lately. This post is to reassure us all that she is happy, healthy, relaxed and in good spirits. 

REALLY good spirits actually. She has reached an agreement with her employer which does involve her resignation, but gives her even more than she had hoped for, as she put it. 

She could not give us detail but, "I hope it involves a few zeroes on the end," as Caro put it. Shenée just smiled.

She seems positively upbeat about her future and was full of her trademark fizz and sparkle. She nearly did the Sheepdog Without A Tail dance when she saw me, but recognised she was in a public place and restrained herself.

She and Craig and Caro and I met up at Caro's favourite restaurant in Paraparaumu, "The Surfer's Mistress" for a lovely evening of Italian food, chat and laughs*. Craig was tired (he'd had a big day) but they both seemed laid-back and full of good humour. 

More to the point, Shenée wore my favourite dress. I had been nagging her to wear this one again ever since its one and only outing earlier in the year. "Monkey With A Hat On" just makes me smile. 

I guess it is because Monkey With A Hat On is so much like Shenée herself. Funny, unapologetic, eccentric, individual and adorable. 

And Monkey With A Hat On does not give a shit what you think. 

That's my friend Shenée, too. I just love her.
