Old British Rail Sign

This one’s for Tryfan46!! As a teenager, I used to go to school on what is now known as The Watercress Line. Each day, I went through a gate, before crossing the line to get to the other side to catch my train. There was a sign identical to this which I passed every day. About 30 years ago we picked this up at a local auction and we hung it on our wooden side gate. When we changed the gate to an iron one, we put the sign in the cellar. As my daughter and son in law have just bought a house that has a gate that people leave open, I thought I would do it up and give it to my son in law as a Christmas present.
Luckily we have the brilliant Abbey Hardware store where I was able to get the right black spray paint, and Hammerite white to outline letters. The guy in the shop had exactly the right screws, nuts and washers to fix it to wherever it’s going. I said to him, ´You can never close! Who would tell me what I needed if you weren’t here?’
