Winter Gloamin'
I had such a good night's sleep last night that I didn't wake up till 7.12, still in the pool by 7.27 but missed the result in North Shropshire till I came out.
It was a beautiful morning, a glorious sky and much sun in the sky. 'I'll go for a walk' I thought, before L comes for lunch. But no, first of all a call to #1 son re our restrictions. He may be coming over next month. Then the booked call to the new College Board member, after which I had to sign the Apex TAR and accounts and deal with some more College Board business including agreeing the 'thank you' Christmas message to all our wonderful staff. There was also a catch up call to J re last night and electric heaters, reporting faults at the Manor, letting Mum know next week's rota and trying to find some brawn for Sunday morning. And in the middle of all that there were messages from #3 son about a leaky dishwasher. Luckily I know nothing about dishwashers. By that time all this was done it was time to vacuum and get the food ready for lunch. This was our 'not Le Petit Paris' lunch. Instead we had Gourmand ready meal, Aldi sticky toffee pudding and no alcohol as L was planning to drive later.
By the time our convivial lunch was over the sun was dipping in the SW and another, short day was nearly ended and it's a lot chillier outside. I think I've found some brawn, which is good, #3 son's problem turned out to be minor and tonight I have an evening in, just Willow and I and no plans for tomorrow.
Been a busy day!
