Foodies!
Johnny and I went to see Jessica today and take her Christmas present. She leaves for Cancun with her mom, sister, and Nieces next week and we leave for Portland. Won’t get to be back together till New Year’s Eve. I’m told there will be a party at our house. :—) Anyway, we went to a favorite Oriental restaurant. Johnny got his usual spring rolls and rice. Not sure the name of what she got but it was new to her and she said it was yummy! I had a roast duck ramen noodle bowl!! Oh my goodness!! It was absolutely scrumptious!!! The thin white broth ( maybe coconut milk in it, not sure) was so rich and had such depth of flavor!! I’ve never had anything quite like it! I think it had lemongrass in it! I had left overs for supper!
She gave Johnny a drum! A djembe! She did ask my permission a few months ago since I do live with him. :—) He loves music and has a small collection of odd instruments. He will enjoy this. She gave me 2 beautiful raku mugs from our Florida trip.
We did some shopping and she wanted Johnny ( aka Mr. Christmas) to see this wonderful shop full of holiday cheer. We had great laughter.
This season is so hard and there are so many reminders. She asked if she could show me something that might make me sad. I said of course. She had received a medallion from the organ donor’s association. It brings her peace to know others were helped. Just another way our Father brings beauty from ashes.
Be blessed!!
