Patron saint of cars

The day of the car's annual checkup. When I set off to collect it, I realised that I've been getting Steve to mend my cars for 30 years.

Steve is always cheery, mostly stressed, always willing to do himself out of work by recommending reliable cars to buy (advice I ignored to my cost for the first 20 years of our relationship).

Today, he found various little excuses to chip bits of the bill until it was just under the nearest hundred, so horrified he was that our (recommended) car needed a new shock absorber.
