Nicky and her Nikon

A spring reminder

I thought we were firmly back into winter again today as it is so cold, grey and awful - but luckily the bright daffodils growing on the river bank reminded me that we are in spring, I would not have known otherwise!

I took my camera into Nikon head office today for a sensor clean - luckily it is not too far from where I live. My camera has had spots on the sensor since the day I got it, and I read on some websites that other models like mine (Nikon D800) have had the same problem - something to do with the mechanics of the inner workings splashing up oil spots rather than dust. I did attempt to clean it myself but I seemed to get some spots off and not others, so off to Nikon it went. I do feel lost without it, and I am using my old camera and have forgotten all the controls!

Other than that I took my eldest son shopping for clothes as he is bursting out of his current wardrobe (all that sport and gym) - boys seem to hate shopping unless it is something for them so it was not too painful. Then I helped my other son by listening to him recite his GCSE Greek set text - my goodness, what was Homer on when he wrote that, all this stuff about Hektor of the shining helmet and his well endowered dowered white armed Andromache - clearly I never studied classics at school so cannot appreciate it - I rather read Jane Austen or George Elliot anyday!
