It’s all in the detail

I visited my cousin today as we were travelling on together to a family birthday party. While I was at her home, this very talented lady showed me her hobby room, filled with the most fabulous dolls’ houses! There are houses, a bakery and coffee shop, a haberdashery and a general merchants’ store, all n wonderful miniature.

L has created all the homes from scratch and her attention to detail is absolutely amazing. The blip photo is of The Orange Tree, a private dining room in Greyabbey. L’s son and d-I-l had their wedding reception in the full-sized version!

We both spent just a very short time at the party as we’re awaiting family who will stay for Christmas. I don’t want to imperil my chicks’ homecoming!

I’m going to have a go at making sweet shortcrust pastry tonight, with a view to making some spiced pear tarts (my daughters don’t like sweet mince or any other raisiny things) for later in the week.

Happy Saturday! And a happy birthday to my fab son-in-law! I’ll have to think of a blip name for him…
