A Street Christmas

Today we hosted our street Christmas get together.  I haven't got everyone in the picture.  There were 22 of us today.  This year it was a luncheon and I kept it simple with everyone bringing finger food.  We sat in our garden and the forester strung up his tent fly to provide more shade.  In New Zealand if you are going to sleep out in the bush overnight you can string up a square of waterproof material for shelter rather than carry in a tent.  That is called fly camping.
There were secret Santa gifts and conversation and most importantly sunshine.  If the wind drops I could even be tempted to swim.
Sadly our neighbour Fred who is 95 wasn't well enough to come.  His wife Pam, who has Parkinsons bravely came and someone walked her home.
