The news is causing glumness again, well apart from The LibDems overturning a huge Tory majority in Shropshire North, previously the seat of disgraced ex-MP Owen Paterson. Omicron is giving the panjandrums the scares - being more transmissible, it’s reckoned we’ll end up once again with the NHS unable to cope. Two years in and we’re reintstating one way systems in supermarkets and perspex screens. The word is only to go out if necessary and avoid Christmas parties. So inevitably hospitality is once more being trashed. Except this time there’s no furlough money. Disaster.
