"Swallows and Amazons for-ever!" One swallow doesn't make a summer but I saw my first at Amwell Nature Reserve today. :)

We had a lovely swim and then went birding. This common snipe flew in and landed on an island where it remained motionless for ages with its head tucked under its wing. As the coot approached it showed itself.
